Kumarasinghe Aratchige Dona Chrihashni Nehara Canishia Pieris (born December 21, 1988), better known as Nehara Pieris, is a Sri Lankan born actress, dancer, singer and a TV presenter. She studied at st. Lawrence’s school and lately joined an institute for higher studies.She is currently Sri Lanka’s Most Popular Teledrama Actress after winning this award at both the Sumathi and Raigam Tele Award Ceremonies, the two premier tele award festivals in Sri Lanka.
Beginning her career in entertainment through television commercials, Nehara has so far been featured in over 30 commercials endorsing a variety of products. She really came in to the spotlight by dancing her way through to 5th place in the Sirasa Dancing Star reality TV dance competition. Her simultaneous appearance in the award-winning teledrama ‘Muthu Kirilli’ as its main character also ensured that Nehara’s popularity sky-rocketed. She also hosts the popular ‘Derana Tea Party’ programme engaging in casual conversation with some of Sri Lanka’s most popular personalities. In 2008, Nehara released her much anticipated hit music single, Malpethi while ‘Aadara Heena’, a duet with local film star Roshan Ranawana, and a several other hits will be released soon. Nehara’s appearance in the Sri Lankan English movie ‘It’s a Matter of Love’ is her maiden cinematic venture.
Her versatility across a wide range of genres, cheerful and friendly attitude combined with her petite and adorable good looks has made Nehara Pieris one of the hottest properties in the Sri Lankan entertainment scene.
