Popular teledrama Bonda Meedum is to be halted abruptly after its lead actress Udari Warnakulasuriya has reportedly become pregnant. The teledrama, which is based on Sujeewa Prasannaarachchi's novel Bonda Meedum, is telecast by the ITN.
Udari and popular actor Saranga Dissasekara plays the teledrama's lead roles - Sansala and Dhanuka.
Though the drama was originally supposed to end with Dhanuka pledging to take care of Sansala – who is unable to walk, Udari's condition has forced the producers to end the story with Udari going mad, reports say.
The teledrama, which is directed by Chandika Wijesena, also features a cast including Buddhadasa Withanachchi, Janak Premalal, Ananda Wickremage, Meena Kumari, Gihan Fernando, Gayan Wickramatillakem Chandika Nanayakkara, Gayana Sudharshani and Madhani Malwatta.
