The Ministry of Health, in a statement, said the director board of Sri Jayawardenepura Hospital has been dissolved with immediate effect.
It is at this hospital that MP Duminda Silva, injured in the Mulleriyawa political gunfight three days ago, is undergoing treatment.
The statement said the management of the hospital was being reformed on the instructions of the subject minister.
New directors are due to be appointed next week.
