An appeal was filed in the Supreme Court today against the verdict delivered in the White Flag case which found former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka guilty of one count.
The appeal was filed by Paul Ratnayake associates on behalf of Sarath Fonseka.
The appeal was filed against the verdict given by two judges Deepali Wijesundara and M.Z. Razeen of the High Court sentencing Fonseka to three years in prison and a fine of 5000 rupees.
However, W.M.T.B. Warawewa who was one of the judges in the three-member trial-at-bar acquitted former army commander Sarath Fonseka of all charges - in a dissenting judgment.
