Mervyn Silva to act as King Dutugemunu ( Video )

Minister Mervyn Silva will play the role of King Dutugemunu in the newest movie directed by Suneth Malinga who made Sinhawalokanaya.
The film titled ‘Surangana Lowin Ewilla’ is based on a book series by Ayoma Sandamali. The muhurath ceremony of the film was held in Colombo recently.
Shooting for the movie will be done in Padukka, Sigiriya and Bandarawela, the official added.
Dutugemunu was a Sinhalese king of Sri Lanka who reigned from 161 BC to 137 BC. He is renowned for defeating and overthrowing the usurping Tamil king of Anuradhapura, Elara of India, expanding and beautifying the city, and projecting the power of his native Rajarata region across the island of Sri Lanka.

The pictures and video shows Public Relations Minister Mervyn Silva during the filming of the movie ‘Surangana Lowin’ which is a fantasy film for children in Sigiriya.
