An estate superintendent has been arrested on suspicion of the recent murder of of tele-drama actress Vinu Wettimuny, OIC of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Mount Lavinia Police said.
The estate superintendent was suspected to have been romantically involved with the victim evidenced by the fact that she had several land deeds belonging to the superintendent in her possession.
Police suspect that one or more land deals could have been the motive behind the actress’s murder. Information has also surfaced that the actress had been close to several police officers of the Mount Lavinia Police Station. Police said this aspect of the case was also being investigated.
