Award winning global superstar Enrique Iglesias will be performing LIVE in Sri Lanka this December. In a short video promotion, Enrique Iglesias said that he will be performing in Sri Lanka on December 20 at a “very special show”.
Live Events Sri Lanka is bringing Enrique Iglesias to Sri Lanka, the biggest chart topping star to perform in Sri Lanka so far. Enrique Iglesias will be performing in Sri Lanka at the CR & FC grounds as part of his ‘Sex and Love’ world tour.
Live Events is managed by top radio DJ Shaq who is also the Chief Executive Officer, along with Kumar Sangakkara (Board Director) and Mahela Jayawardene (Board Director). It has a mission to attracting A-list celebrities to Sri Lanka and, through them; raise the international standing of this unique and diverse island paradise even further, or to put it in Live Events CEO Shaq’s own words, “We are merging celebrity marketing and destination promotion into one goal, whilst giving Sri Lanka an experience of having A-list celebrities visit the country for entertainment and infotainment, and in turn giving these celebrities an experience of Sri Lanka that they could take away with them.”
Live Events has signed up with a financial commitment to one of the biggest artist management agencies in the USA, which handles celebrities like Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Maroon 5, Bon Jovi and many more. This agency also handles sports superstars like Michael Jordan, Derek Jeter, Tiger Woods and Chris Paul, as well as scores of A-list actors and actresses.
Enrique Iglesias is widely regarded as the King of Latin Pop. Iglesias started his career in the mid 1990s on an American Spanish Language record label Fonovisa under the name Enrique Martinez, before switching to the stage name Enrique Iglesias, and turning into one of the biggest stars in Latin America and the Hispanic Market in the United States.
By the turn of the millennium, he had made a successful crossover into the mainstream market and signed a multi-album deal with Universal Music Group for US $68,000,000 with Universal Music Latino to release his Spanish albums and Inter scope to release English albums.
In 2010, he parted with Interscope and signed with another Universal Music Group label Republic Records to release bilingual albums. In 2015, Enrique parted ways with Universal music group after a decade. He signed for Sony Music and it has been reported that it is one of the biggest contracts offered to any artist in recent years in terms of advances and royalties. His upcoming albums will be by Sony Music Latin in Spanish and RCA in English.
Iglesias has sold over 137 million records worldwide, making him one of the best selling Latin artists ever. Iglesias has scored over 150 number-one hits across all of the Billboard charts and he has had five Billboard Hot 100 top five singles, including two number-ones, and holds the record for producing 26 number-one Spanish-language singles on the Billboard ’s Hot Latin Tracks. He also holds the record for most number-one hits and the longest running number-one hit on that chart. Iglesias also has 13 number-ones on Billboard’s Dance charts, more than any other male artist. He is also the best selling Latin artist in the UK and the best selling international artist in India.
