STF ASP and two sons arrested
An Assistant Superintendent of Police attached to the Special Task Force and two of his sons were taken into custody today for allegedly assaulting a motor car driver, according to the Katunayake Police.
The victim of the attack, Ramanayaka Mahaththamulla Gamage Sriyal Henry(48) of Raddolugama, Seeduwa is undergoing treatments at the Negombo Base Hospital.
Police said the ASP had been on his way to the Bandaranaike International Airport in a private jeep with his two sons who were to go abroad when their vehicle collided with another vehicle. They had then assaulted the driver of the other vehicle.
As a result of a complaint made by the driver, the ASP and his two sons ( ages 30 and 36) were taken into custody, police said.
The ASP and his two sons are to be produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s court.
