Several roads in Colombo city will be closed from 3.00 pm to midnight on December 14 and 15 due to the third Colombo Night Races, organized by Carlon Super Sports headed by MP Namal Rajapaksa.
Police said roads from Galle Face, Regal Junction, Chaitya Road, Khan Clock Tower, Bank Mawatha and Olcott Mawatha will be closed.
Interval periods from 7.00 pm to 7.30 pm and 9.00 pm to 9.45 pm will be given for office staff to leave the area.
The race is planned to start from Lotus Road outside the Galadari Hotel and it will go through the Ceramic Junction, a left turn from the CTO Junction, Chatham Street, York Street and then towards the York Street-Bank Road Junction. From the junction, it turns right towards Janadhipathi Mawatha, NSA roundabout, Galle Face Centre Road and finally back to Lotus Road.
Buses heading towards Colombo will have to turn from Kollupitiya and then proceed through Dharmapala Mawatha, Slave Island and turn left at the Technical Junction towards Pettah.
