Malik Cader OUT from SEC ??
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Director General Malik Cader has been offered a senior position in the Finance Ministry and he may accept it if his service is required immediately, SEC Chairperson, Indrani Sugathadasa told Mirror Business Online a while ago.
She was responding to a question in relation to a strong rumour that has been doing the rounds since morning that the SEC DG has tendered resignation.
“For the moment he hasn’t given resignation. He has been offered a Senior Advisory Position at the Finance Ministry and he might take it if his service is immediately demanded by the Ministry Secretary,” Sugathadasa added.
It is believed that several powerful and influential investors are trying to oust Cader charging he is responsible for the present downturn in the Colombo bourse.
So far the market indices have gone up by 3 per cent, reacting to the speculation
