Discussions are currently being held between police women and children bureau and National child protection authority to propose new laws to ban the "box" seats in film halls and to prevent under aged girls from being taken in to these cinema halls with men.
These discussions are held
as many complaints have been lodged that there are illegal sexual
intercourses taking place in the Box seats.
Director
of the police women and children bureau SP Jayantha Wickramasinghe said
that discussions kicked in after the revelation that an under aged girl
had been raped by her boy friend inside a cinema hall in Gampola.
He
further said that in near future, they will be starting a program with
the aid of the NCPA to check the box seats in cinema halls.
