Around Rs. 15 million has been spent for the CHOGM website, UNP MP Harsha de Silva says.
Speaking
at a political programme broadcast on television last night (29), he
said that such a staggering amount is spent while websites are
established in the country for even Rs. 12,000.
To this, Deputy minister of Foreign Affairs, Neomal Perera said that the amount has been paid by the Finance Ministry.
However, the name of the web developers have not been mentioned in the CHOGM website.
MP
Harsha de Silva has charged that the government has paid excessive
amounts to companies instead of utilizing state owned assets such as the
ICTA and professors and students of IT faculties of universities.
