  4. well said Nadeesha, we know that you are one of em so you will eventually speak for them. you are wrong when you say men would die without prostitutes. We can either masturbate or screw our wives. Although this is the worlds oldest job, it's not a respectable job. You might find it so pleasing cause you charge hell of a lot to get laid. There are girls who come down to Colombo looking for jobs & fall easy prey to thugs who does prostitution and we feel pity for them. But for pros like you......you does not earn to be respected.

  5. Whats she talking about? Does she even knwo what she is talking about. Respecting or not repecting sex workers depends on individual perspective .Agreed! Its sad when it comes to this topic because, in countries like India and srilanka,a majority of women choose this job because of financial issues. They do it because of poverty.Yet, respecting or not respecting is not the problem here .The problem is the issues that will pop up after giving them the respect. Those who look at it in a shallow view wil not understand it but if you look deeply , giving respect to women involved in prostitution is an indirect way of respecting prostitution itself. Prostitution is the job/work done by protitutes, so respecting prostitutes is an indirect way of respecting what they do too. Lets mae it a bit simple. people respect doctors reight? Why respect doctors? because of the work they do obviously!! So if someone tells that they respect protitues ,its an indirect method of telling that they respect the work they do. This is the problem. Respecting prostitutes is an indirect method of encouraging prostitution itself! Its disatsrous.People like actresses and actrs should refrain before exposing their beliefs about controversial topics like prostitution to the media because they are ruining themselves by doing so.We dont know if this particular actress said it because of her own beliefs or if she said it for the sake of telling due to lack of knowledge on the subject . There's so many young adults looking up to them as role models . These kids actually follow these people. For kids like tem, words like these are really bad examples. The other crisis is that, if people raise their voice for the respect of prostitutes today, the next thing they'll raise their voices for is to legalize prostitution (which is aready on the move along with an anti-move ). legalising protitution mean an increased transmisssion of sexually transmitted diseases and human traffiking which are huge issues abroad. This would also mean that people would try to legalize abortion too. We should refrain from looking at the perspective of the women involved in it because the problem is too big just to consider the respect or disresoect of the women only. Its quite sad though because its mainly girls who come to the main cities from rural areas that fall prey into it.
