Hiru Mega Bite Team Remanded

Three suspects who are told to be working in a Hiru Tv was brought before Negambo magistrate yesterday (05) under the accusation of harassing the well known actor Mihira Sirithilaka and attempting to obtain ransom from his wife.

The suspects were ordered to be sent to remand prison until the 10th September.

The suspects were a program presenter in the Hiru TV named Sunoj Fernando and actors of "Mega bite" TV program Patric Mayura and Charith Fernando.

On the 1st September, While returning home with a group of persons after shooting a visual for a Song, Mr. Sirithilaka had been abducted by this group who had come in a jeep.

This group had made death threats to Mr. Sirithilaka while making him kneel down on the street and had telephoned his wife to demand ransom.

While doing all these, they had video taped all the events to be telecasted in a program called "Mega bite" in Hiru TV.

On the very day of the event, Kochchikade police has handed in a B report to the Court regarding the incident.

Two of the suspects were brought before the judge without exposure and was ordered to be presented to an identification parade.

But the presenter of the Mega bite program was exposed in his capacity.

Police also reported to the Court that the Jeep used in the crime has not yet been taken in to police custody, as well as the recordings of the event.

Meanwhile the defense counsel informed the Court that the particular TV channel has agreed to give their consent to any condition of the victim, to mediate the issue without going for further legal action.

Shashi Wijendra's New Look

Shahi is now living in Matale with his family. His Muslim name is Hauf Haneefa. He says that now I am a good Muslim follower and I do not want to appear in public again with the name of 'Shashi Wijendra'.

Mother of one rapes 15 year old boy

A complaint has been lodged to the Ambalantota Police station that a 23 year old mother of one has abused a 15 year old boy by using him for sexual activities.

The complaint has been lodged by the grand mother of the boy.

The suspect woman has been sent to medical testing by the Ambalatota police and the victim boy has been sent to Hambantota hospital for treatment as his penis has been badly wounded.

It is said that the husband of this woman is a night shift security officer and that when he leaves for work, this boy who lives in the neighborhood, had been staying at her house overnight to give company.

When the boy had gone home in the morning after the night on the 27th, the grand mother had seen the boy in discomfort and had questioned him.
After the revelation of the facts, the grand mother had gone to the Police station with the boy to complain about this harassment.

It is reported that Actor Mihira Sirithilaka was assaulted by "Hiru Mega Bite" team. 

Mihira Sirithilaka is a Sri Lankan actor who is well famous as a comedian. Mihira has always been a cool person and he is always able to entertain his fans.

Recently Mihira had a very bitter experience and he was almost abducted and tortured.

When a group of people abducted Mihira he did not know anything. But it was a prank by a Hiru TV Mega Bite. They have used a Land rover and kidnapped him and threaten him and his family. Later they have reveal that they are Hiru Team.

Softlogic to open ‘Burger King” restaurants in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka based Softlogic Holdings has signed a deal with Singapore based BK AsiaPac Limited to develop, open and operate Burger King (BK) restaurants in the Island nation.

A stock market disclosure by Softlogic says, its fully owned subsidiary, Softlogic Restaurants Private Limited, which will be the master franchisee firm here in Sri Lanka for BK Restaurants, will develop, establish and operate direct owned Burger King Restaurants in the country.

It will also have the right to provide license to Franchisees to develop, establish and operate Franchised Burger King restaurants in Sri Lanka.

Softlogic Restaurants Private Limited is also permitted to use the Burger King Marks and Burger King Systems to run the operations in the country.

BK has agreed to provide services and operational support to Burger King Restaurants operating within Sri Lanka.

Accordingly, Softlogic says it is planning to open three BK restaurants in the coming months in the Island.

Burger King is a globally renowned fast food restaurants chain spread across many parts of the world.
