Hundreds of Sri Lankan chefs got together yesterday ( 18th November ) to prepare a record-breaking Kiri Bath (Milk Rice) in honor of President Mahinda Rajapaksa's birthday. It's the world's biggest ever kiribath, or milk rice cake, a dish being cooked up. The top chef for the public.Master Chef Dr. T. Publis Silva and 500 chefs prepared the world's biggest Kiri Bath at the Independence Square in Colombo.
The chefs led by Silva are to prepare 4000 kilograms of Kiri Bath from 1200 kg of white rice, 300 kg of cashew, 250 kg of jaggery, and 1500 coconuts. The gargantuan Milk Rice will be enough to feed some 65,000 people, according to media reports.
Sri Lanka hopes to enter the Guinness Book of World Records by creating the biggest portion of life-sized milk rice in history.
