Sudarma Neththikumara's first love

The first love of Sudarma Neththikumara, who splashed headlines recently for her linkup with 'Hula' of the defence ministry, is said to be film director and author Sirimal Wijesinghe.

The young couple's love was a very famous one among students who attended English classes at the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya during the early 80s.

However, that romantic chapter was closed after Gamini Neththikumara, a partner of the Salaka business, claimed her as his wife.

In a recent interview to the 'irida Divaina', Gamini Neththikumara has revealed that his wife is much younger than him age wise.

Sudarma was a young girl when Gamini (whose first marriage had ended by then) saw her first while performing at a show of Khemadasa Master.

He had directly approached her parents and asked for her hand in marriage.

Sudarma hailed from a family in Mutwal, who were not very well off. They too, had agreed to the proposal from this much older but wealthy suitor.

During recent times, Sudarma was linked up with a minister as well as with a brother of a former cricket captain, reports say.

However, Gamini Nethikumara says he possesses an audio tape of how his wife spent time together with 'Hula'.

He adds that usually after a domestic quarrel, around 50 policemen surround the house and when 'Hula' visits his wife, STF personnel in Defenders block the entire road to provide security to the visitor.

President sends Hulugalle home

The Media Centre for National Security has been abolished. Spokesman to the president Mohan Samaranayake said the MCNS has been disbanded with effect from 1st of November.

Its director general was Lakshman Hulugalle.

The reason for this decision is said to be the transfer of 23 policemen who had raided the Salaka gambling centre.

By the way Talking to DM  Lakshman Hulugalle, the Director General of the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) said the Centre was not abolished only ‘defined’.

When asked whether he was aware of the decision, Mr. Hulugalle said, “Yes. I was aware of the decision as we had had discussions previously in this regard.” He said his post was still secure.

Mr. Hulugalle said the decision was taken because there was no longer a war situation in the country.

There were reports in the media that a person known as ‘Hula’ connected with national security was responsible for the disbanding of Colombo Organized Crimes Division that raided an illegal gambling den near Colombo Town Hall on 4th November.

It is reported that Hula is having a affair with Sudharma Neththikumara and Sudharma had taken over Hula's powers and started to issue directives at the police.

Gamini Neththikumara, the Senkada (Salaka) group owner has given interview to a weekend paper regarding his wife Sudharma Neththikumara's behaving and connection with Casino and Hula.

Even STF has been around and giving security to HULA when he is having fun with Sudharma according Gamini.

Blinded by Hula’s love and power, Sudharma had even threatened her two children not to interfere in her private life. Gamini Neththikumara had got the two children to lodge complaints with the National Child Protection Authority. The complaint faced the same fate as the complaint lodged with the Cinnamon Gardens Police. Lover Hula had ensured that that none of the complaints were investigated.

Well known businessman Gamini Neththikumara had informed the President and the Defence Secretary of the situation. The President had told the Defence Secretary to look into the matter and bring a settlement among the two parties.

According some articles Hula is the Director General of the Media Centre for National Security Lakshman Hulugalle. But a newspaper inquired regarding this, has said he is not the ‘Hula’ the media was talking about.

When asked whether he was responsible for the disbanding of Colombo Organized Crimes Division Mr. Hulugalle has said he was not involved in the move. He was not a person connected with casino or gambling and had asked the journalist to inquire from the police media spokesman as he was the best person to get the information.

The journalist had said the media had stated that a stalwart at Media Center for National Security known as ‘Hula’ was behind the move and Mr. Hulugalle has responded saying his name was not ‘Hula’ but Lakshman Hulugalle and had added that he had a good name. When the journalist asked whether he had any connection with Ms. Sudharma Neththikumara, Mr. Hulugalle has strongly denied any connection with her and had said Sudharma Neththikumara was not involved in the case. He had said even the building where the illegal gambling den was maintained did not belong to her. He has said he or Sudharma Neththikumara was not involved in the illegal gambling incident.

Saman De Silva assaulted

Former president of the Sri Lanka Singers Association (SLASA), Saman Dde Silva has been assaulted by a South Provincial Councillor at last night's musical show held at the Welikada Prison, reports say.

According to a compliant lodged with the Borella police, Saman De Silva was going to sing when Prisons Minister Chandrasiri Gajadheera's arrival was announced. To this, Saman has said that it would be nice to see him. In response, the PC member has reportedly attempted to assault him.

An assistant superintendent too has been assaulted, the complaint further states.

Police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana has stated that the suspects have been identified and investigations are underway.

President of the SLASA - Madhumadawa Aravinda has deeply condemned the incident.

Thisuri Yuwanika faces an accident

The young actress who was awarded the best upcoming actress at Sumathi Tele Awards, Thusiri Yuwanika, has faced an accident while she was at the set of 'Mahinsa'.

The tele-drama in which she plays the major role, has a scene where a dead body is floating on a river.

The dead body is Mahinsa’s , therefore she has had to do the  scene of floating on the river.

In order to shoot the scene Thisuri had been rested on a plank and while she was floating the plank has rolled over due to heavy waves causing Thisuri to fall into water.

Even through her father and several others have jumped in to the river to save her, no one has been able to reach her location.

Fortunately, Thisuri has been able to hold on to a branch floating on the river and after floating down for a while the branch has got stuck in few rocks.

Those who came to her rescue have been able to get her out of the river from there.

It is heard that she almost drowned as she cannot swim.
