A woman has cut off the genitals of a 22-year-old youth, who had tried to sexually abuse her as she had been alone at home on international women’s day on March 08.
The youth, said to be a member of the Navy, is now receiving treatment at Kantale Hospital under police guard.
According to a complaint lodged by the mother of two, the youth had entered her home from the backdoor after her husband left for work.
When he had attempted to force himself on her, she had seized a table knife and cut off his genitals.
The injured youth had fled, but was subsequently arrested by a team from Thambalagamuwa police at Kantale Hospital after being alerted by the woman. He had undergone surgery on the same night.
